Bedroom Ideas with Area Carpets
Want to add a dash of elegance and coziness to your bedroom? Use area carpets. It’s not just visually appealing, but functional too. While adding texture and color to your décor, it also provides great comfort underneath.
Area carpets and rugs can be used for any room to enhance the level of comfort that you expect from this room, particularly bedrooms.
There are several ways you can recreate your bedroom with area carpets:
The size element
Choosing the right size of the carpet is essential to create a balanced look. Too large or too small of a carpet will make the room cluttered and out of balance; or will stand out as too small. For the perfect appeal, the carpet should be visible at least 18-24 inches from the bed’s side.
Placing the carpet: under
the bed
The carpet should be placed in a way that it remains visible from the side of the bed, bedside table, nightstand, and other furniture items placed in the room.
You can opt for the “half under” placement – which is placing the carpet under the bed in a way that back legs remain on the floor and front on the carpet. Alternatively, you can place the carpet under the bed, or, if its larger in size, in the bed’s perimeter. However, the visibility of the carpet should follow the same ratio as aforementioned.
Contrast aesthetics
A smaller sized carpet makes the bedroom floor visible, which can be a way to highlight rug texture, contrasting with the hard surface of the floor. It creates a cozy and intimate space as well as one to step down on when getting out of bed in the morning.
Use headboard and dresser as elements to create a harmony with the carpet
Consider size and color of every element in question to create a more balanced look. Big bedrooms should better have big area carpets, and a small room can perfectly accommodate a small one. Coordinate the carpet with every other element of the room.
